The UAE Pro League has announced the nominees for the Arabian Gulf League Best monthly awards, powered by Etisalat, the official sponsor of the Arabian Gulf League, in the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Best Coach categories for the months of April and May following the tight competition in the final four matchweeks of the league.
The shortlist for the Best Player award includes Al Jazira trio Ali Mabkhout, Thulani Serero, and Abdullah Ramadan, who helped their side seal the Arabian Gulf League title. Mabkhout also finished off as the league’s top goalscorer with a tally of 25 goals.
They are joined by Sharjah defender Abdullah Ghanem, as well as Argentine midfielder Gaston Suarez who was part of Bani Yas's squad that finished off in second place after close competition with champions Al Jazira.
In the Best Goalkeeper category for the months of April and May, Bani Yas’s Fahad Al Dhanhani is competing against Sharjah’s in-form keeper Adel Al Hosani and Al Jazira skipper Ali Khaseif who lifted the league trophy with Al Jazira.
Dutch coach Marcel Keizer, who guided Al Jazira to the league title, is nominated for the Best Coach award. He is contending against Shabab Al Ahli coach Mahdi Ali and Sharjah coach Abdulaziz Al Anberi.
Voting for the three categories has opened on Friday at noon on the Arabian Gulf League website and mobile app and continues for 48 hours. After which, winners will be announced through the official UAE PL social media channels.
