A brace from Ali Mabkhout and another goal from Ayman Hussein earned Al Jazira a 3-1 win over Al Bataeh in matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League on Monday.
Seven minutes before the break, Ali Mabkhout found the breakthrough and put the Pride of Abu Dhabi ahead when he timed his run perfectly and towered above Al Bataeh's defense to head in Abdalla Ramadan's cross.
The ADNOC Pro League all-time top scorer doubled the scoring sixteen minutes after the hour-mark when Khalfan Mubarak teed up Ali Mabkhout inside the box, as the latter kept his composure and rounded the goalkeeper before drilling the ball into the empty net.
Hamad Mohamed pulled one back and reduced the deficit for the visitors in the 84th minute with a superb strike from inside the box.
A minute later, Ayman Hussein scored his first goal with Al Jazira and sealed the victory when he beat two defenders before drilling the ball into the bottom corner of the net with a sensational finish.
The result means that Al Jazira sit sixth with 43 points, while Al Bataeh are 13th with 18 points.
