Ousmane Camara's first-half goal earned Sharjah a 1-0 slim win over Al Jazira in the first leg of the semifinal of the ADIB Cup on Thursday. The fixture played at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium gives Sharjah the much-needed advantage ahead of Monday's second leg at Sharjah Stadium.
Sharjah found the breakthrough and opened the scoring from an incredible counter-attack that ended with Francisco Alcacer teeing up Ousmane Camara inside the box, as the latter kept his composure before drilling the ball into the far corner of the net.
The hosts had a golden opportunity in the last minute of the first half to restore parity when they were awarded a penalty kick, but Ali Mabkhout missed from the spot as his strike was brilliantly denied Sharjah's goalkeeper Adel Alhosani.
It has been a cagey second half with few chances as the two clubs failed to pose a real threat to the goalkeepers.
The second leg will take place at Sharjah Stadium on Monday, May 22nd.
