Shabab Al Ahli Win, Al Jazira and Al Ain Play out 1-1 Draw in First Leg of Pro League Cup Semis

Shabab Al Ahli snatched a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Al Wahda, while Al Jazira and Al Ain played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Pro League Cup semi-final.

Shabab Al Ahli - Al Wahda

Ten-man Shabab Al Ahli left it late to secure a hard-fought win over Al Wahda with one unanswered goal at Rashid Stadium on Tuesday.

Despite the hosts' superiority in terms of possession in the first half shown in holding 63% of the ball, the two teams were level in terms of chances with each side managing a single shot on target out of four efforts.

Shabab Al Ahli looked inspired after the break, managing three efforts on target but none of them were within the frame of the goal.

Norwegian forward Thomas Olsen created a number of scoring chances, including a decisive assist for his teammate Gustavo who scored the only goal of the night.

Al Wahda's players excelled in defense, with midfielder Mansour Al Harbi blocking four passes, while duo Ruben Filipe and Abdulla Al Karbi blocking three passes with the latter making four interceptions.

Al Jazira - Al Ain

Al Jazira came from a goal behind to draw 1-1 against Al Ain at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The hosts dominated the game in terms of possession, all while unleashing 13 shots, four of which were on target.

On the other hand, the visitors kept goalkeeper Ali Khaseif busy in the first half, scoring a goal and producing three efforts on target while failing to muster a single shot on target in the second half.

The Pride of Abu Dhabi's duo Abdalla Ramadan and Thulani Serero created three goal-scoring chances each.

Unlike the previous matches, Al Ain's Cristian Guanca and Soufian Rahimi sorely missed the presence of Laba Kodjo up front, with Caio Canedo deputising in his place.

Rahimi managed just one pass to Guanca and Canedo.

Similarly, the Brazilian forward made a single pass to Rahimi and four passes to Guanca, while the latter produced three passes to Canedo and two to Rahimi.
