Al Wasl and Al Jazira Battle to a Thrilling 2-2 Draw in ADNOC Pro League

In an action-packed match at Zabeel Stadium, Al Wasl and Al Jazira ended up sharing points with a hard-fought 2-2 draw in matchweek 21 of the ADNOC Pro League. This result keeps Al Wasl at the top of the table with 52 points, while Al Jazira holds onto 24 points.

The scoring opened in the 12th minute with Ali Mabkhout of Al Jazira, who ended a 62-day scoring drought with a cleverly lobbed finish in the 12th minute. This goal was his first against Al Wasl in the league this season. Al Wasl's goalkeeper, Khaled Alsenaani, made a key save in the 29th minute, denying Fernando Lucas's long-distance attempt. Fernando tried again just before half-time, only for his shot to fly over the crossbar.

Al Wasl responded just before the break when Fabio Lima took advantage of a slightly out-of-position Al Jazira goalkeeper, Ali Khaseif. Although Lima's initial effort went high, he scored from a penalty in the tenth minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half. This penalty goal marked Lima’s tenth career goal against Al Jazira and his first from the spot.

The second half saw substitute Adama Diallo putting Al Wasl ahead again with a headed goal in the 63rd minute. Al Jazira fought back and equalized in the 79th minute through Bruno De Oliveira, who finished off a precise cross from Neeskens Kebano. This was Bruno's fifth goal as a substitute this season.
