Al Jazira came from behind to emerge 3-2 winners over Sharjah in a thrilling encounter at Sharjah Stadium in matchweek 18 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
Sharjah started the game strongly and were rewarded for their attacking intent with an early goal after only two minutes when Al Jazira's defenders failed to properly clear the ball as it fell to Djaniny, who kept his composure and fired a powerful strike into the top corner of the net, to make it 1-0.
Just seven minutes after the restart, Al Jazira were awarded a penalty kick as Ali Mabkhout stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to hit the equalizer.
Two minutes after the hour-mark, Ashraf Bencharki put the visitors ahead after he had fired in a rebound after Ali Mabkhout's effort was saved by goalkeeper Adel Alhosani.
In the 78th minute, Luan Pereira leveled the scoring for Sharjah when he capitalized a superb header from Francisco Alcacer to find the back of the net from a close range.
Just six minutes before the time, Khalfan Mubarak secured the three points for Al Jazira when he met a brilliant diving header from Ali Mabkhout with a clinical finish, to make it 3-2.
The victory means that Al Jazira sit sixth with 33 points, while Sharjah remain fifth with 34 points.
