Omar Khrbin, Juan Pedro Pereira and Fabio Martins were all on target as Al Wahda paced themselves to an emphatic 3-0 win against Sharjah at the end of the last ‘UAE Flag Day’ Round Nine match of the ADNOC Pro League, late on Wednesday.
Khrbin was quickest to react to a rebound off Sharjah goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani to nod in the opener during first-half injury time, while Pereira made it 2-0 with a stiff rifled shot in the 64th minute.
Fabio Martins further increased the miseries for the home team when he accepted a crisp pass from his skipper Ismail Matar and completed the rout in the 80th minute.
This was Al Wahda’s third successive win that pushed the Clarets into second spot with 17 points, just two shy of table toppers Al Ain, who are with 19 points.
Sharjah continued with their ebbing form to slip into the second half of the table with 13 points.
