A second-half goal was the difference for Shabab Al Ahli in a 1-0 home win over Khorfakkan at Saqr bin Mohammad al Qassimi Stadium in matchweek seven of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.
It took 53rd minutes for the host to break the deadlock when Khorfakkan defender Khalifa Mubarak failed to properly clear the ball until it found Mohammad Juma Eid who curled a right-footed strike into the top corner of the net.
The visitors kept their pressure for restoring parity but they failed to find the back of the net, suffering a fourth defeat in the ADNOC Pro League this season.
The result means that Shabab Al Ahli sit third with 13 points, while Khorfakkan remain twelfth with five points.
