Al Wahda Come from behind to Secure 3-2 Dramatic Win over Al Ain

Al Wahda came from behind to emerge 3-2 winners over the 2021-22 League title holders Al Ain in a thrilling encounter at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in matchweeek 6 of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.

 

 

It didn’t take long for the hosts to open the floodgates when Saeed Juma sent a fabulous cross into the penalty area, which was met by Soufian Rahimi, who stabbed it into the back of the net at the far post.

 

 

Two minutes before the two teams headed to the dressing room for the break, Adrien Da Silva hit the equalizer when he met Ruben Filipe's cross with a sublime strike into the corner of the net.

 

 

Joao Pedro gave the lead for Al Wahda in the 45th minute when he climbed above Al Ain defense to thump a brilliant header into the back of the net.

 

Al Ain midfielder Ahmed Barman's own goal add the third goal for the visitors when he converted a cross into his own net in the 47th minute.

 


Three minutes before the hour mark, Rahimi grabbed his brace and narrowed the gap for the hosts when he picked up the ball on the edge of the box before firing a sublime strike into the top corner of the net, to make it 2-3.

 

 

The win means Al Wahda are seventh with 7 points while Al Ain stay in fourth place with 10 points.
