No goals were scored in the first half, but Al Jazira made a comeback in the second half to clinch the three points.
Ali Mabkhout came close to opening the scoring in the 8th minute, but his header was blocked by goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani.
Al Jazira didn’t open the scoring until the 74th minute after Abdalla Ramadan sent an inch-perfect pass to Zayed Alameri who tapped the ball home.
To add insult to injury, Ajman striker William Owusu was sent off after a rough challenge against an Al Jazira player in the 76th minute.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi pressured Ajman’s defensive line in the dying minutes of the game, and they were awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute, which was converted by Ali Mabkhout.
Khalfan Mubarak then scored the third of the night following a great effort in the penalty area deep into injury time to seal the three points.
Al Jazira now have 26 points, while Ajman are frozen on three points only.
