Prestige Mboungou's second-half goal was the difference as Ajman secured a 1-0 win over Al Jazira in matchweek seven of the ADNOC Pro League on Sunday.
Al Jazira should have opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Abdalla Ramadan teed up Ali Mabkhout with a brilliant backheel pass, but the latter's effort was parried out by goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi's pressure did not stop as they missed a real goal-scoring chance when Thulani Serero whipped in a brilliant low cross to Mabkhout, who met it with a left-footed shot, but he saw his effort hit the post from the six-yard box.
Prestige Mboungou hit the 77th-minute winner against the run of play when he picked up the ball inside the box and skipped past Salim Rashid before firing the ball into the back of the net.
