Ajman secured a crucial 2-0 win over Al Jazira in matchweek 23 of the ADNOC Pro League, hosted at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium. This win marks Ajman's second victory against Al Jazira this season, placing them in seventh position with 30 points, while Al Jazira remain eighth with 28 points.
Notably, this is the first season in which Ajman have managed to win both home and away matches against Al Jazira in the league.
The game started with both teams actively seeking control, leading to a series of goal attempts. One of the significant moments of the first half came when Al Jazira's Ali Mabkhout prepared a promising setup for Oumar Traore, whose shot, however, missed the target in the 40th minute.
Just before the break, Al Jazira's Al Ejandro Pozuelo fired a powerful shot from inside the box, which Ajman's goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani skillfully turned into a corner.
The second half intensified with Al Jazira's Bruno De Oliveira striking the crossbar in the 60th minute. A key moment occurred in the 73rd minute when Al Jazira's goalkeeper, Ali Khaseif, saved a penalty taken by Ajman's Waleed Azaro. Despite this save, Al Jazira's fortunes waned as Ali Mabkhout missed a penalty in the 88th minute, sending the ball over the bar.
The Morrocan forward Azaro clinched the victory for Ajman by scoring a decisive header in the 91st minute, with Gianluca Muniz having set up five of Azaro's last seven league goals.
