Shabab Al Ahli Snatch Dramatic Last-Minute Win Over Bani Yas in ADNOC Pro League

Shabab Al Ahli kept their title hopes alive with a thrilling 2-1 win against Bani Yas in the closing moments of their ADNOC Pro League match at Rashid Stadium, concluding matchweek 24 of the competition.


Bani Yas took an early lead in the 14th minute through Tauljan Sulemjmanov, but Igor Jesus equalized for Shabab Al Ahli in the 35th minute. The winning goal came from an own goal by Hasan Mohamed Almuharrami in the 97th minute.


With this win, Shabab Al Ahli move to 52 points, maintaining their second-place position and keeping the pressure on league leaders Al Wasl. Meanwhile, Bani Yas remain at 23 points in 11th place.


The match started with high intensity from both sides. Bani Yas launched the first significant attack in the 5th minute, but Shabab Al Ahli's goalkeeper Hassan Hamza made a crucial save, turning the shot into a corner.


The visitors continued their offensive efforts and found the net in the 14th minute when Tauljan Sulemjmanov scored from a Suhail Alnoobi assist.


Shabab Al Ahli intensified their pressure to find an equalizer, creating multiple scoring opportunities. Their persistence paid off in the 35th minute when Igor Jesus headed in a set-piece delivered by Cartabia, marking his 12th goal of the season and matching his highest goal tally in a single Pro League season (2020-2021).


Despite relentless pressure from Shabab Al Ahli, Bani Yas's goalkeeper Fahad Aldhanhani kept them in the game with several key saves, including a free-kick from Yahya Al Ghassani in the 83rd minute and another shot from Igor Jesus.


The decisive moment came in the 97th minute when a defensive error led to Hasan Mohamed Almuharrami scoring an own goal, handing Shabab Al Ahli a dramatic and valuable victory.
