De Souza Scores Twice As Al Wasl Beat Al Nasr 2-1 in Bur Dubai Derby

Gabriel De Souza grabbed a brace to grant Al Wasl a 2-1 away win over Al Nasr at Al Maktoum Stadium in Matchweek four of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.

It took 20 minutes for the visitors to break the deadlock when Tomas Chancalay made a brilliant move from the midfield and teed Gabriel De Souza, who hammered a strike with his right foot into the back of the net.

The Brazilian striker grabbed his brace and doubled the visitors' lead in the 47th minute when he picked up Chancalay's pass and cut inside the penalty area before beating Al Nasr's goalkeeper with a clinical finish to seal the victory.

The hosts narrowed the gap in the 71st minute when Antonio Jose De Carvalho stepped up to curl a superb free-kick into the top left corner of Khaled Saif Alsenaani's net.

Al Wasl could have widened the gap when they awarded a penalty kick in the 67th minute, but Gilberto Oliveira's effort was parried by Al Wasl goalkeeper Ahmed Shambih.

The visitors have to finish the game with ten men when Faris Khalil was sent off in the 69th minute with a red card after he brought Al Nasr's player into the midfield.

The victory means that Al Wasl are now in third place with 8 points, while Al Nar remain in seventh place with 5 points.
