Shabab Al Ahli were crowned Arabian Gulf Super Cup champions, as they claimed the first title of the 2020-21 season after beating Sharjah 1-0 thanks to Mohammed Marzooq's goal deep into injury time.
The match was held at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai under the slogan of "Our Winter is Super" in support of the "World's Coolest Winter" initiative.
UAE Football Association chairman Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, General Authority of Sports chairman His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi and UAE Pro League chairman His Excellency Abdulla Naser Al-Jneibi handed both teams the medals before handing Shabab Al Ahli the Super Cup.
The closing ceremony also witnessed the honoring of the UAE Pro League sponsors including Mubadrat The President's Initiatives, Emirates airline, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Etisalat, Al Nabooda Automobiles, Rixos Hotels, Nike, AD Sports, Dubai Sports TV and Sharjah Sports TV, as well as referee Hamad Ali, first assistant Juma Almukhaini, second assistant Mohammed Ghulaita, fourth referee Mohamed Alharmoodi, video referee Ali Alzarooni, assistant video referee Jasem Abdulla, fifth referee Saeed Almarzooqi and referees assessor Hamad Bin Haneefah.
