Al Wasl Dominate Ittihad Kalba to Cement Lead in ADNOC Pro League

Al Wasl reinforced their position at the top of the ADNOC Pro League with an impressive 4-2 win over Ittihad Kalba in their match on Tuesday evening, concluding matchweek 24 of the competition.

Ittihad Kalba faced a major setback early on, as Mohamed Subil received a straight red card in the fourth minute for fouling Al Wasl’s Caio Canedo. Despite being down to ten men, Ittihad Kalba managed to score twice.


However, Al Wasl's relentless performance secured them all three points, increasing their tally to 58 points and solidifying their lead at the top of the table. Ittihad Kalba remain at 24 points, positioned in tenth place.

The first half started with Al Wasl launching aggressive attacks. Despite their disadvantage, Ittihad Kalba’s Mehdi Ghayedi surprised everyone by scoring the opening goal in the 16th minute.

Undeterred by the early goal, Al Wasl continued to press forward and found an equalizer in the 25th minute. Ali Saleh scored after a setup by Adama Diallo, leveling the score.

In the second half, Al Wasl quickly took the lead with Diallo heading in a cross from Fabio De Lima in the 47th minute.

Al Wasl maintained their attacking momentum, with Soufiane Bouftini scoring the third goal with a precise header from a Nicolas Gimenez cross in the 66th minute. Ittihad Kalba managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Daniel Bessa, assisted by Mehdi Ghayedi.

In the final minutes, both teams exchanged attacks, but Al Wasl held a slight edge. Haris Seferovic sealed the victory for Al Wasl, converting a cross from Ali Saleh in the 88th minute, making the final score 4-2.
