His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Al Wasl Club, crowned Al Wasl as champions of the "Adnoc Pro League" for the 2023-2024 season.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, following Al Wasl's match against Al Nasr on Sunday at Zabeel Stadium, during the final matchweek of the ADNOC Pro League.
The coronation event was attended by several dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Butti Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, His Excellency Abdulla Nasser Al Jneibi, UAE Pro League Chairman, Yasser Saeed Al-Mazrouei, ADNOC Executive Director, People, Commercial & Corporate Support, and His Excellency Ahmed Mohammed bin Shafar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Wasl Club.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the strong bond between Al Wasl Club and its fans, stating, "The relationship between Al Wasl Club and its fans is exceptional, built on love and loyalty.
The fans made the difference and brought their club back to the podiums, proving that the strength of the team stems from the strength and confidence of its fans."
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed his pride, saying, "After an exceptional season and in the presence of Al Wasl’s president, Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, I am proud to crown the Emperor with its eighth title in history at Zabeel Stadium. The players, technical staff, and management delivered a historic season. Congratulations to Al Wasl and all its loyal fans."
Al Wasl clinched the 2023-2024 ADNOC Pro League title three matchweeks before the end of the competition, following a decisive 3-0 win over Shabab Al Ahli at Zabeel Stadium. This victory marks the eighth league title in the club’s history.
The players, technical staff, and administrative staff of Al Wasl Club expressed their deep gratitude for the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the coronation ceremony.
