Al Wahda hosted Shabab Al Ahly in one of the most highly-anticipated clashes of ADNOC Pro League fifth match-week that ended in a goalless draw.
Al Wahda went into the encounter with 6 points that secured them the sixth spot of the standings, while Shabab Al Ahly finished last week as table’s third-placed with 10 points piled up from the four previous games.
Al Wahda took the initiative and started attack early in the game as the were hoping to take advantage of playing at home, before Shabab Al Ahly started to fight back 10 minutes into the game, but both sides were unable to find the back of the net.
Both teams resorted to long-range shooting in the second half, that didn’t really witness real chances until the 81st minute when skillful Mehdi Ghayedi was about to snatch the winner when his shot missed the target.
This draw saw Shabab Al Ahly reach their 11th point lying in second place as Al Jazira and Sharjah are yet to play their fifth round fixtures, where as Al Wahda are currently fifth-placed on 7 points.
