Sebastián Tagliabué netted a brace as Al Nasr defeated Al Wasl 3-0 at Zabeel Stadium in matchweek 3 of the Arabian Gulf League on Thursday night.
Sebastián Tagliabué missed a chance to open his scoring account with Al Nasr in the ninth minute when his left-footed strike went inches wide of the goal.
Salem Al Azizi then forced Al Nasr keeper Ahmed Shambieh into a save midway through the first half. Minutes later, Humaid Abdalla saved an effort from Mahmoud Khamis on the other side of the field.
Only three minutes before the break, Ryan Mendes’ effort rebounded off the woodwork and fell to Sebastián Tagliabué who tapped the ball home and handed his side a 1-0 lead ahead of halftime.
After the restart, Al Wasl’s Joao Figueiredo fired an effort towards the goal, but was denied by Khamis.
Sebastián Tagliabué completed his brace right after the one-hour mark. A perfect pass from Dia Saba found Tagliabué inside the box and the latter lobbed the ball over the keeper to make it 2-0.
Diaa Saba got his name on the scoresheet nine minutes later, with Tagliabué providing the assist. The 35-year-old crossed the ball inside box and Saba slotted into the open net to hand his side a 3-0 win.
