Sharjah returned to winning ways, as they defeated Hatta 3-2 at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in matchweek 11 of the Arabian Gulf League on Friday night.
Hatta forward Kevin Alexander came close to opening the score in the 15th minute, when his close-range effort was blocked by the defence and diverted into a corner kick.
On the other side of the pitch, Sharjah winger Luan Pereira almost broke the deadlock in the 26th minute when his volley hit the post.
The King eventually broke the deadlock, when Shaheen Abdalla headed the ball off a corner kick on the half-hour mark.
The hosts leveled the scoreline seven minutes later, when Saeed Suleiman slotted home off a powerful shot to make it 1-1.
Welliton Soares came close to regaining Sharjah's lead two minutes before the break, but his header was blocked by Hatta keeper Ahmed Mahmoud.
Hatta defender Al Hussain Saleh defender netted the second goal in stoppage time after dribbling past Sharjah defence and sending the ball into the back of the net.
Sharjah managed to make a comeback just before the break, when Welliton Soares netted the equaliser in the 48th minute after tapping a rebound home.
Welliton Soares then netted the third with a header in the 66th minute, raising his tally to 11 goals and becoming the league’s top goalscorer.
Sharjah now top the league with 26 points, while Hatta remained at the bottom of the standings with one point only.
