Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli concluded their postponed matchweek nine ADNOC Pro League match in a 1-1 draw at Sharjah Stadium.
The result places Sharjah fourth with 21 points, and Shabab Al Ahli in second with 24 points.
Early in the game, Shabab Al Ahli’s Federico Cartabia’s free-kick was saved by Sharjah’s keeper Adel Al Hosani.
Sharjah responded with Luan Pereira’s attempt, parried by Hassan Hamza.
Al Hosani again saved a shot by Yahya AlGhassani in the 13th minute.
Mateus Lima scored for Shabab Al Ahli with a header in the 45+3 minute, assisted by Renan Victor Da Silva from a free-kick.
The second half saw increased intensity with Sharjah coach Cosmin’s offensive substitutions.
In the 74th minute, Luka Milivojević narrowly missed a free-kick for Shabab Al Ahli. Sharjah equalized in the 81st minute with an own goal by Walid Abbas, redirecting Firas Belarbi’s free-kick.
The match saw another own goal in the teams’ league history, similar to the 2021 incident.
Reduced to ten men after Abdelaziz Salim Ali Salim's second yellow card in the 97th minute, Sharjah held on for a 1-1 draw.
