Shabab Al Ahli came from behind as they netted two late goals to edge Hatta 2-1 at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in matchweek 17 of the Arabian Gulf League on Thursday.
Shabab Al Ahli were the better the side in the first half, as they created a number of good chances but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal, as they headed into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.
The second half was a different story, with Hatta's Swedish midfielder Nahir Besara opening the scoring with a glorious long-range screamer in the 58th minute.
Hatta were reduced to 10 men after Habib Yousuf was sent off in the 84th minute. It was a turning point for Shabab Al Ahli who capitalized on their numerical advantage and made a perfect comeback by scoring two quick-fire goals.
Yahya Al Ghassani netted the equaliser in the 86th minute before his teammate Mohammad Juma scored the second goal, which turned out to be the winner, one minute later.
Shabab Al Ahli raised their tally to 29 points in fifth place and Hatta remained at the bottom of the table with 5 points.
