Al Nasr and Al Bataeh Play out 2-2 Draw in ADNOC Pro League

Al Nasr and Al Bataeh played out a 2-2 draw at Al Maktoum Stadium in matchweek twelve of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.

The hosts took an early lead when they were awarded a penalty kick after Saif Rashid was brought down inside the box by Rashed Mohammad Omar, prompting the referee to point to the spot.

Joao Pedro stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 1-0.

Al Nasr kept up the pressure for the equalizer, as they got what they wanted only three minutes later when Rashed Omar teed up Omar Juma, who brilliantly cut inside the penalty area and lobbed the ball into the back of the net with a smart finish, to make it 1-1.

Two minutes before the break, Al Nasr completed the dramatic comeback when Rashed Omar sent an excellent cross to Adel Taarabt inside the box, as the latter used his first touch to smack a right-footed shot toward the far post of the goal, beating goalkeeper Zayed Ahmed.

The drama continued at Al Maktoum Stadium when substitute Sekou Baba rescued a point for Al Bataeh in the 64th minute when Anatole Bertrand’s first attempt was denied by Al Nasr's defender before the Malian forward poked the rebound, to make it 2-2.

The result means that Al Nasr are now in 12th place with 7 points, while Al Bataeh remain ninth with 13 points.
