Al Dhafra played out a 1-1 draw with Al Nasr in matchweek one of the ADNOC Pro League at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium on Saturday.
Three minutes after the hour-mark, Al Dhafra broke the deadlock when Al Nasr's defense failed to clear the ball as Antonio Jose De Carvalho's weak pass fell to Khalid Ali Aldarmaki, who curled a right-footed strike into the bottom left corner of the net.
Dembo Darboe leveled the scoring in the 72nd minute when he ran on to a sharp diagonal pass to slot the ball into the far corner.
Seven minutes later, the visitors could have secured their maiden victory this season, when Antonio Jose De Carvalho watched his first-time smart volley hitting the crossbar.
The draw has decided the result of nine previous encounters between the two teams, while Al Dhafra won 3 matches, compared to 12 for Al Nasr.
