Al Jazira Fail to Convince in 2021-22 ADNOC Pro League Season

The 2020-21 ADNOC Pro League champions Al Jazira have not delivered the expected performances in the 2021-22 ADNOC Pro League during their defending campaign of their league title.

 

 

 

The Pride of Abu Dhabi kicked off their adventure with a 2-0 win over Al Dhafra, before starting to drop points to end the first half in 3rd place with 23 points from seven wins, two draws, and four defeats.

 

 

 

Marcel Keizer's men managed to pull off two consecutive wins at the beginning of the second half, before losing to Al Nasr in matchweek 16.

 

 

 

They returned to winning ways with four consecutive victories, before suffering four defeats in a row in the last four matchweeks to sit fourth with 45 points from 14 wins, nine defeats and three draws, scoring 42 goals, and conceding 34.

 

 

 

Despite sitting fourth, Al Jazira topped the chart of most passes with 14,790, a passing accuracy of 87.6%, as well as, producing 6419 passes in the opposite half.

 

 

 

They also topped the chart of teams with the most ball possession with 62%.

 

 

 

In terms of players' stats, ADNOC Pro League all-time top scorer Ali Mabkhout sits fourth in the top scorers' chart with 10 goals, while duo Thulani Serero and Abdulla Ramadan topped the chart of players with most touches, with the former having 2296 touches, and the latter producing 2292.
