Al Jazira clinch a difficult win from Emirates fighters

The early kick-off for the ADNOC’s Pro League game-week 4 under the motto: ‘UAE Projects of the 50’ on Thursday at 18:45; was Al Jazira Vs Emirates at the magnificent Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

The best opportunity fell to Ali Mabkhout in the 31st minute when he had a one-on-one chance with the goalkeeper but disappointingly lofted the ball over the goal.

Finally, in final few minutes left of the 1st half added time and after a period of sustained pressure from Al Jazira on the Emirates’ goal; Oumar Traore put the ball in the back of the net for his second goal of the season with an assist from Ali Mabkhout.

In the 71st minute, Ali Mabkhout finally got off the mark for the season with a well-taken goal that resulted from a lack of concentration from the Emirates Club.

With 10 minutes left the Hawks managed to reduce the deficit with a well-executed goal for Joseph Gnabo.

Then 60 seconds later the substitute Bruno Oliveira pounced on a loose ball to score his first goal of the season with a wonderful individual effort to make it 3-1.

Unbelievably, the Emirates substitute Lithierry Silva scored in the dying minutes to put pressure on Al Jazira and to give his team a fighting chance of getting something out of this game.

Al Jazira now sit on top of the standings with 10 points from 4 games, whereas the Emirates sit at the bottom of the table with no points.
