Ahmed Barman's Stoppage-Time Own Goal Earns Bani Yas Draw against Al Ain

A heartbreaking stoppage-time own goal from Ahmed Barman earned Bani Yas a 2-2 draw against Al Ain in matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League on Sunday.

Three minutes after the break, Laba Kodjo put Al Ain ahead when he timed his run perfectly to head in Erik Jorgens' cross.

Soufian Rahimi cemented his side's lead when Laba Kodjo pounced on a mistake from goalkeeper Fahad Aldhanhani to tee up Andrii Yarmolenko, as he sent a low cross to the Moroccan midfielder, who found it easy to drill the ball into the empty net.

Bani Yas turned the game on its head in just seven minutes when Nicolas Gimenez reduced the deficit from a penalty spot after stroking the ball into the back of the net.

Ahmed Barman's own goal salvaged a late draw for the hosts when he inadvertently turned Opa Nguette's cross into his net.

The result means Al Ain are still second with 48 points, while Bani Yas sit 11th with 23 points.
