In a decisive match at the Zabeel Stadium, Al Wasl extended their lead in the ADNOC Pro League standings with a commanding 4-1 victory over Al Bataeh. This win in matchweek nine propels Al Wasl to a strong position with 23 points, while Al Bataeh stay at 12 points.
The match was marked by Al Wasl's aggressive play and control. Adama Diallo opened the scoring with a standout individual effort in the 16th minute. Starting from midfield, Diallo skillfully navigated past Al Bataeh's defense, confronted the goalkeeper, and precisely netted the ball, demonstrating his exceptional skill.
Al Bataeh responded with a goal in the 43rd minute when Sekou Baba intercepted a pass from Al Wasl’s defense. The ball passed to Mohamed Rashid Alhammadi and subsequently deflected off Soufiane Bouftini, resulting in an unfortunate own goal, bringing a brief equalizer.
