Al Nasr Beat Al Riffa 3-0 in Gulf Club Champions League Opener

Al Nasr made a winning start to their 2026-27 Gulf Club Champions League campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Bahrain's Al Riffa at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai on Tuesday.

Al Ameed dominated the Group B opener, with Ramón Mierez scoring in the first half before Al Nasr added two more goals after the break to secure all three points.

Al Nasr started strongly and controlled much of the opening period, putting pressure on the visitors as they looked to take an early advantage.

Their efforts paid off when Argentine striker Mierez broke the deadlock, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at half-time.

Al Nasr maintained their attacking momentum in the second half, adding two more goals to extend their advantage and put the result beyond Al Riffa's reach.

The Dubai side held firm defensively to complete a comfortable victory and keep a clean sheet in their opening match.

The result gave Al Nasr three points in Group B, providing a strong start to their Gulf campaign as they aim to progress to the knockout stage.

Al Nasr are competing in a group that also includes Iraq's Al Zawraa and Qatar SC, with the victory over Al Riffa giving them an early boost in the race for qualification.
