Goals from Laba Kodjo, Omar Atzili, and Alejandro Romero handed Al Ain a 3-1 win over Al Bataeh at Khalid Bin Mohammed Stadium on Sunday in matchweek 12 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Ain had opened the scoring after 36 minutes when Omar Atzili's powerful effort bounced off the bar as Laba Kodjo was on time to poke the rebound in.
Sekou Baba lashed in a great low shot to restore the parity for Al Bataeh in the stoppage time of the first half.
Al Ain regained the lead two minutes after the break when Omar Atzili picked up the ball on the edge of the six-yard box, before firing a powerful effort into the far corner of the net.
A sublime strike from Alejandro Romero added the third goal for Al Ain five minutes after the hour-mark.
Al Ain temporarily jumped to the second spot with 25 points, while Al Bataeh are seventh with 16 points.
