Khorfakkan scored on either side of half-time to continue their recent fine run and hold out for a 2-0 win against visiting Ajman in the eighth round of the UAE ADNOC Pro League, late on Friday.
Fresh from their 2-2 draw against Bani Yas last week, Khorfakkan went into the lead in the 17th minute when Raphael Guimaraes de Paula (Dodo) found the back of the Ajman net and hand the home team an early advantage.
Egged on by a sizeable section of home fans, Khorfakkan got a second goal in the 85th minute when Salim Ali Al Hammadi’s pile-driver from the top of the box went in unchallenged past the Ajman goalkeeper.
The positive result took the club from Ras Al Khaimah past Ajman into the upper half of the standings with 12 points, while their opponents on the night remained with eleven points against their name.
