The Togolese forward sealed the victory and secured the three points for the hosts four minutes before the time with an exquisite finish from a tight angle.
Kodjo's brace put him on 25 goals for the ongoing season of the ADNOC Pro League.
For Shabab Al Ahli, Al Ain's win will have been a warning not to take their foot off the gas.
Leonardo Jardim's side face Al Wasl on Sunday, April 23rd, with the pressure now on to maintain their three-point lead at the top of the table, while Serhiy Rebrov's men clash against Bani Yas on the same day.
Al Ain are now in the second spot with 47 points, while Sharjah sit fifth with 42 points.
