The UAE Pro League, known for pioneering in adopting cutting-edge technologies to enhance fan experience, for the first time in the region featured Snapchat’s augmented reality (AR) technology during the UAE Super Cup match. The match held at Al Maktoum Stadium yesterday, between Shabab Al Ahli and Sharjah, with Shabab Al Ahli TEAM emerging victorious to claim the first title of the 2023-2024 season.
The use of Snap’s technology added an extra dimension of excitement to the Super Cup match by incorporating various AR Lens effects into live fans' shots displayed on the big screens, creating a vibrant and interactive atmosphere for spectators. It was made possible by Snap’s Camera Kit software, which enables partners to bring Snap AR into their own applications, websites, and even physical locations.
This initiative marked a significant advancement in fan engagement during the first title of the season 2023/24.
