Shabab Al Ahli ... Knights of the Fifth Place


Shabab Al Ahli have ended their campaign in the fifth spot, but they delivered brilliant performances in several encounters especially the big clashes as they managed to get 23 points at the end of the first half, winning six, drawing five, and losing just two matches.


Their biggest win in the league was in matchweek four after defeating Sharjah 4-3 following a thrilling game, but they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Bani Yas in matchweek 12.


The Dubai-based side returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Khorfakkan at the end of the first round, during which the 27-year-old left-footed playmaker Omar Abdulrahman scored his first goal in 668 days after his last goal against Al Ain in March 2020.


Shabab Al Ahli's situation in the second half differed as the team was affected by several injuries that hit some of their key players. Mahdi Redha's men then lost five consecutive games from matchweek 17 till matchweek 21, ending their hopes of a title.


Shabab Al Ahli concluded the season with a 2-1 over Khorfakkan, raising their tally to 42 points from twelve wins, eight defeats, and six draws.


Shabab Al Ahli's players excelled in shots, firing 290 efforts, 123 of which were on target to rank third in the chart of the teams with most shots. They sit third in the chart of teams with the most passes with 11,788 passes as well as producing 5,558 accurate passes in the opposite half.
