Al Wasl fought back to play out a 1-1 draw against Ittihad Kalba in matchweek 20 of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.
The hosts took an early lead after just three minutes when Leandro Spadacio leite sent a perfect cross from a free kick into the penalty area, where Braian Ramirez towered above Al Wasl's defense to thump a brilliant header into the bottom corner of the net.
Fabio De Lima hit the equalizer for the visitors from the spot after stepping up and sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 1-1.
Alexandru Cicaldau wasted an oppertunity to secure the three points for Ittihad Kalba when he missed a penalty kick seconds before the final whistle as goalkeeper Khaled Saif Alsenaani was the hero after saving the penalty.
The result means that Ittihad Kalba sit 8th with 26 points, while Al Wasl are third with 40 points.
