UAE national team player Ali Saleh scored a fine brace to help Al Wasl to a handsome 5-0 drubbing of Al Orooba in late night action in the 12th round of the ADNOC Pro League, on Thursday.
Al Wasl took the lead midway through the first half when Ramiro Benetti laid the ball in the path of the speedy Ali Saleh for the opener in the 22nd minute.
Goaded by the goal, Al Wasl pushed ahead and got two quick goals with Fabio De Lima getting his name on the score-sheet in the 34th minute.
Ali Saleh got his second of the night when De Lima turned provider and the UAE striker notched a fine brace to literally seal the match with one half gone.
Adryelson Silva got a fourth for the home side just three minutes into the second half, while Mohammed Salman Al Akhberi completed the drubbing in the 82nd minute.
The three points take Al Wasl up into the mid-table region with 17 points even as Al Orooba continued in 13th spot with just seven points.
