Sharjah booked their place in the 15th edition of the UAE Super Cup after claiming the 2021-22 UAE President's Cup title, after their 1-0 victory over Al Wahda in the final match.
Sharjah's road to the UAE President's Cup title was not strewn with roses, especially since they had five fierce matches on their road to glory.
The King kicked off their strong run with a 2-1 win over Hatta in the last 16th round of the UAE President Cup, before winning 4-2 on penalties over Shabab Al Ahli after a goalless draw in the quarter-finals.
Sharjah also had the upper hand over Al-Wasl in their two-legged semi-final, with a goalless draw in the first-leg away match at Zabeel Stadium, before securing a 3-2 win at home.
But it was a dream come true for Sharjah as Alcacer sealed the long-awaited President's Cup title with a 1-0 win over Al Wahda in the final.
Sharjah mark their third appearance in the Super Cup. The King won their first title in their first appearance after beating Shabab Al Ahli on penalties in the 2019- 2020 season.
