One of the early kick-offs on Friday for game-week 3 was Emirates Vs Al Dahfra 18:45 at Emirates Club Stadium. Both these teams came into this game with no wins, no goals and in desperate need of a win.

The first real chance fell to Emirates in the 5th minute with a quick breakaway after breaking up an earlier attack from Al Dhafra. The ball was played out to the right winger who ran into the box and cut the ball back Hassan Khamis who then flicked the ball on for Khalid Khamis who was in acres of space but his shot was hit straight at the goalkeeper.

Then in the 12-minute of play Al Dhafra scored the first goal of the game, against the run of play, when a long ball was played from the defence to Makhete Diop who flicked the ball on with his head to Mohammed Aljunaibi who then threated an inch perfect pass through the Emirates defence for Emoh Ezekiel who made no mistake and scored his first goal of the season for himself and the club.

Then 1 minute after the goal the Emirates had another chance to score again from the right flank when a delicious ball was crossed into the box and the Yousef Gnabo somehow, with the goal gapping lofted his shot over the crossbar.

In the 2nd half the 1st real chance came to Al Dhafra had was in the 67-minute when Ben Aymin managed to create himself some space and had a shot on goal that was just wide of the left-hand post.

Another chance came in the 85-minute when the Emirates had a corner played in by Yaqoob Yousef and the ball fell nicely for Philemon Seyi who headed it straight at the goalkeeper.

Finally, after sustained pressure the goal for the Emirates club came 87-minute after some great work from the striker Goseph Gnado. He received the ball on the left flank went pass the defender and curled a beautiful ball into the right corner of the goal.

The game finished 1 – 1 and was an evenly matched game. The Emirates had the better possession but that was expected playing at home. All in all, a draw is a fair result considering where these two teams are in the league.
