A stoppage-time penalty allowed Al Wasl to snatch a dramatic 2-1 win at Zabeel Stadium in matchweek nine of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.
It took just 20th minutes for the drama to start unfolding when Prestige Mboungou flicked in a sweet goal from a corner kick after a nice header cross from defender Abdulla Saleh Ben Alarbi.
Thirteen minutes later, Tomas Chancalay restored parity for the hosts when he fired a left-footed strike, which beat Ajman's defenders and past the goalkeeper into the back of the net to make it 1-1.
The result means Ajman are still at the top of the league table with 18 points, while Ittihad Kalba sit seventh with 11 points.
The two teams thought that the game will end in a draw, but the hosts were awarded a penalty in the death and Fabio De Lima stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
The victory means Al Wasl are now fourth with 18 points, while Ajman remain eighth with 14 points.
