Odair Hellmann's men kicked off their campaign in the ADNOC Pro League with a 1-0 away win over Bani Yas and concluded the season with a 2-1 victory over the 2020-21 champions Al Jazira at Zabeel Stadium.

Starting from matchweek 2, Al Wasl went on a four-match winless run, before returning to winning ways with a 1-0 home win over Shabab Al Ahli in matchweek 6.
