Khorfakkan turn the table and deny Emirates first point

Khorfakkan managed to come back and claim a 2-1 home victory over Emirates in the sixth match-week of ADNOC Pro League, despite having fallen 1-0 behind early in the game, to deprive the visitors of earning their first point of the season.

Emirates took the lead in the 28th minute with a goal from Feras Saleh, before Khorfakkan leveled in the 37th minute through the Brazilian Raphael Guimaraes, while Melo bagged the match winner seizing Ibrahim Saeed Al Yaqoubi pass closer to the full-time whistle.

Up until that magical moment towards the end of the game, it looked as though Emirates Club were well on to their first point of the season.

But it was the 28-year-old Melo – also known as Paulinho - who denied the visiting team that advantage as the left winger scored with a magnificent strike what proved to be the match-winner.

The win secured Khorfakkan three additional points that took their tally up to eight points and a comfortable-looking position in the second half of the standings. Emirates Club, on the other hand, succumbed to their sixth consecutive loss of the season so far.
