Both teams earned their spots in this prestigious match following impressive victories in their respective leagues during the 2022-2023 season.
Shabab Al Ahli claimed the ADNOC Pro League title with games to spare, achieving their eighth victory in the competition's history. Their previous victories span seasons 1974-1975, 1975-1976, 1979-1980, 2005-2006, 2008-2009, 2013-2014, 2015-2016, and most recently 2022-2023, securing their legacy as the second most successful club in the league after Al Ain.
