Two goals in each half handed Al Wasl a 2-0 convincing win over Sharjah at Zabeel Stadium in matchweek 15 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
Al Wasl's pressure paid off after 37 minutes when Abdelrahman Saleh's effort from outside the box took a slight deflection off Sharjah's Caio Lucas that wrong footed the goalkeeper.
A sublime strike from Ali Saleh four minutes before the time secured the three points for the hosts to go eight point clear at the top of the table.
The result cemented Al Wasl's position at the top of the table with 39 points, while Sharjah sit fourth with 26 points.
