Super Motivated' Al Ain Ready for UAE Super Cup against Sharjah

ADNOC Pro League's title holders Al Ain will have a fiery encounter against Sharjah in the UAE Super Cup. The UAE Super Cup will take place on February 25th at Al Maktoum Stadium.

It will be a hard-fought game for Al Ain against Sharjah, especially in light of the "game of musical chairs," which dominate the ADNOC Pro League's top spot as eight clubs, including Al Ain and Sharjah, compete in the title race.

Despite the severe difficulty of the game, Al Ain will rely on their fans and records during their aspiration towards claiming the UAE Super Cup trophy.

Winning the UAE Super Cup title for Al Ain is essential because it will be a step towards returning back to the right track on the league's standings during their route towards defending their ADNOC Pro League's crown.

The 2021-22 ADNOC Pro League title holders will mainly depend on their players' great experience, especially the duo Laba Kodjo and Soufian Rahimi.

Al Ain's fans pin hopes on head coach Serhiy Rebrov, who has an outstanding career; as a player and a coach.

Rebrov played for several clubs, including Shakhtar Donetsk, Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine, as well as Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in England.

The Ukrainian manager is one of the most prominent football stars in Ukraine's history as he is the second-highest all-time top scorer in the Ukrainian Premier League with 123 goals. As a player, Rebrov guided Dynamo Kyiv to claim 17 titles, including 9 Ukrainian Premier League trophies.

After announcing his retirement from football, he began his managerial career as an assistant coach in Dynamo Kyiv's U-21 team in 2009-10; before working as an assistant coach for the first team from 2010 to 2014, during which he worked as an assistant coach in the Ukrainian National Team in the 2010-11 season.

In 2014, he was appointed as the head coach of Dynamo Kyiv; before leaving the Ukrainian club in 2017 to take the charge of Saudi's Al Ahli.

A year later, he was named the manager of Hungarian Ferencváros. During his era in Dynamo Kyiv, he guided the Ukrainian club to claim the Ukrainian Premier League two times as well as, achieving two Ukrainian Cup trophies and a super cup title.

Meanwhile, he led Ferencváros to win three consecutive "Nemzeti Bajnokság I" titles and guided them to reach the UEFA Champions League's group stage for the first time in their history during the 1995-96 season.

Rebrov prefers to maintain a great balance between defense and attack and always relies on wing play to start his counter attacks and create distances behind the opponent's defensive players.
