The UAE Pro League is set to hold the closing ceremony of the 'Innovation Hub – Universities Challenge 2022' initiative on Wednesday, March 16th.
The initiative was launched by the League with a view to engage university students in developing innovative ideas that contribute to enhancing fans' attendance in the Pro League football competitions.
The UAE Pro League held an expanded session with the participating university students, in addition to taking them on tours to the stadiums of the ADNOC Pro League and holding workshops in order to discuss the best ideas aimed at enhancing the attendance of fans in the stadiums.
The event was held in conjunction with the 'Month of Innovation', celebrated in February under the slogan "The UAE Innovates".
Seven universities and colleges took part in the challenge, including UAE University, Khalifa University, Sorbonne University, Ajman University, Canadian University in Dubai, Umm Al Quwain University, and Khawarizmi International College, competing to provide new innovative ideas for the development of Emirati football and professional clubs and to reach development proposals that will help solve challenges.
The first phase of the Universities Challenge 2022 saw effective participation by university students and professional football clubs, during which they discussed the most important challenges, especially regarding ways to increase the number of fans in the UAE Pro League competitions.
Over a two-week period, the participants in the challenge communicated with the Pro League’s work team to obtain all the required information, in addition to holding several periodic meetings directly with the participating students who raised their inquiries in various aspects.
The 'Innovation Hub – Universities Challenge 2022' will conclude its activities on Wednesday, where participating university students will have the opportunity to present their technical shows.
The top three projects will be awarded golden, silver, and bronze prizes respectively, in addition to integrating them in the UAE Pro League’s development plans for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
The “Creative Hub – Universities Challenge” is the latest in a series of promotional and developmental projects launched by the UAEPL with the aim of engaging various sectors of the UAE community in its competitions, raising awareness, and expanding the fan base.
