The UAE Pro League has won the Innovative Project of the Year Award 2026 at the ASBU BroadcastPro ME Awards, organised in association with the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), in recognition of its pioneering Kids Match broadcast during the ADIB Cup final.
The award recognises the Pro League's innovative approach to sports broadcasting, which introduced what it describes as the world's first football match broadcast specifically designed for children, using advanced technologies to create a unique viewing experience.
The Kids Match project combined animation, augmented reality, and cartoon characters integrated into live match coverage, transforming the traditional football broadcast into an engaging experience tailored to younger audiences.
Through interactive graphics and animated visual effects that accompanied the action on the pitch, the initiative brought together football and entertainment, offering children a new way to follow matches and connect with the sport.
The award reflects the UAE Pro League's commitment to using advanced technology to develop creative broadcasting solutions, enhance the viewing experience, and engage new generations of football fans.
The achievement also marks another step in the League's efforts to advance sports broadcasting standards and strengthen the international recognition of UAE football competitions.
