UAE Pro League Approves Amendments to Club Licensing Regulations

The UAE Pro League held on Monday the UAE club licensing pre-cycle workshop 2023-2024 via video conferencing.

The workshop, which was attended by licensing and finance officials in professional clubs, witnessed amendments to the beginning of the 2023-24 licensing cycle.

The licensing cycle is scheduled to start in August and end in May of the following year, so that documents are uploaded through the Club licensing system CLAS, starting from August.

The amendments to the club licensing regulation for the 2023-2024 licensing season saw the adoption of only the AFC license and changed the Licensing date to become during May.

These amendments come in pursuant to the amendments of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the change of the annual calendar of the Continental Confederation, starting from the 2023-2024 season.

During the workshop, UAE Pro League Club Licensing and Development Director Stuart Larman reviewed the development projects related to the licensing of the UAE clubs, which aim to improve the work system, in line with international best practices in this field.

On his part, UAE Pro League Club Licensing Officer Abdullah Mubarak showcased the latest updates to the licensing regulations in the 2023-24 cycle in the new session, and the timetable set for submitting the required documents. He also reviewed the most prominent challenges and difficulties faced by clubs during the previous licensing period, and ways to overcome them in the new session.

In turn, UAE Pro League’s Club Financial Auditing Manager Jaber Dababneh reviewed the latest updates to the financial criteria in the 2023-24 cycle.

A positive and constructive interaction amongst the participants was remarkably noted during the workshop.
