Unbeaten Shabab Al Ahli Remain Top as U-21 Pro League Sees Highest-Scoring Matchweek

Shabab Al Ahli maintained their position at top of the U-21 Pro League table after the end of a matchweek 16 that is on track to become the highest-scoring of this season as the net rippled on 19 occasions. 

 

 

The weekend’s U-21 action saw four away wins, two home victories, and a draw.

 

 

 

The opening gameof matchweek 16, which took place on Saturday, saw Al Ain securing a 2-0 win over Bani Yas thanks to Vitor Hugo's brace.

 

 


In the second match of the day, Al Wahda snatched a hard-fought 1-0 win over Khorfakkan thanks to Awadh Mohamed's goal in the 50th minute.

 

 


Sharjah came from a goal down to defeat Al Wasl 3-1 at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in the third and last of Saturday’s fixtures.

 

 


Al Wasl’s Khalid Ali had opened the scoring for the visitors after just 16 minutes before Caio Rosa restored parity in the 53rd minute.

 

 

Seven minutes later, Khalifa Sembaij put the hosts ahead, before Ali Al Hammadi scored the third goal of the night to seal the victory for Sharjah.

 

 


The games continued on Sunday with Emirates playing out a 1-1 draw against Al Dhafra at Emirates Club Stadium.

 

 

Yaqoob Yusuf gave the hosts the lead 16 minutes in, before Sameh Abdulsalam equalised in the 63rd minute.

 

 


Sunday's action continued with Al Jazira pulling off a 2-0 win over Al Nasr.

 

 

Mamadou Coulibaly broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, while Ali Al Memari cemented his side's lead by scoring the second goal of the night in the 77th minute.

 

 


U-21 Pro League leaders Shabab Al Ahli crushed Al Orooba 5-0. Shabab Al Ahli's Cheickna Doumbia opened the scoring for the visitors in the 42nd minute before Gustavo Silva de Oliveira doubled it in the 44th minute.

 

 


Five minutes after the restart, Doumbia netted his brace to make it 3-0, while Guilherme da Silva added the fourth goal in the 70th minute and Kayque Soares rounded off the scoring 13 minutes from time.

 

 


Ajman defeated Ittihad Kalba 2-1 in the last game of the weekend. The visitors did not need much time to open the scoring just 11 minutes from the kick-off through Abdulla Abdulaziz.

 

 

Khalifa Ali added the second goal of the night in the 37th minute and Saif Obaid halved the gap with a consolation goal in the final minute.
