Gulf football fans are set for a blockbuster Arabian showdown as Shabab Al Ahli take on Al Sadd in the UAE–Qatar Super Cup Shield, kicking off at 8:00 PM on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
The fixture comes as part of the UAE–Qatar Super Cup series, with both sides aiming to etch their name onto the Super Shield in a contest loaded with pedigree, history, and silverware ambition.
Shabab Al Ahli enter the match as the most experienced club in the competition’s history.
The Dubai-based side have featured in three editions of the UAE–Qatar Super Cup, having competed in the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 seasons. They lifted the Super Shield in the inaugural edition after a 2–1 victory over Al Duhail, before claiming the Challenge Shield last season with a 3–1 win against Al Rayyan.
With Saturday’s appearance, Shabab Al Ahli extend their record as the most frequent participants in the tournament and target a third Super Cup title, reinforcing their dominance in the competition.
Across the previous two editions, Shabab Al Ahli recorded five goals scored, one conceded, 17 shots on target, and five big chances created, underlining their attacking efficiency on the Super Cup stage.
The “Knights” are also chasing a landmark moment, as they look to secure the 22nd trophy in the club’s history across all competitions, having already claimed 21 titles, including five ADNOC Pro League titles, five League Cups, four President’s Cups, and seven UAE Super Cups.
On the other side, Al Sadd arrive with a point to prove. The Qatari giants have appeared once before in the UAE–Qatar Super Cup, during the 2025–2026 season, where they suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Al Wasl, who went on to lift the Super Shield.
Now, Al Sadd are determined to turn the page and claim the Super Shield for the first time in their history, as they look to bounce back against one of the region’s most decorated opponents.
The Doha-based club are chasing an impressive milestone of their own, aiming to lift the 68th title in their storied history. Al Sadd have previously won 67 trophies, including 18 Qatar Stars League titles, 19 Amir Cups, two AFC Champions League titles, nine Qatar Cups, two QSL Cups, 15 Sheikh Jassim Cups, one Gulf Champions League, and one Arab Champions League.
