Unbeaten Shabab Al Ahli Maintain Eight-Point Lead at the Top of U-21 Pro League Table

MShabab Al Ahli remained top of the U-21 Pro League without a defeat, maintaining an eight-point lead at the top of the U-21 Pro League table after the end of matchweek 19; a weekend that saw 20 goals scored as four home wins and three away victories were recorded.

 

 

 

The opening game of matchweek 19, which took place on Friday, saw Ajman snatching a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Sharjah.

 

 

The result meant Ajman moved up to third with 36 points, just ahead of fourth-placed Sharjah.

 

 


In the second and last of Friday's fixtures, Al Nasr crushed Bani Yas 4-1 at Al Maktoum Stadium.

 

 

The 4-1 victory took Al Nasr to eighth place with 27 points, while Bani Yas remain 12th with 12 points.

 

 


The games continued on Saturday with Ittihad Kalba pulling off a 1-0 away win over Al Dhafra at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium.

 

 

Ittihad Kalba moved up to sixth place in the table with 30 points, while Al Dhafra are in the ninth spot with 25 points.

 

 


Emirates demolished Khorfakkan with four unanswered goals in the second match of the day.

 

 

The 4-0 victory took Emirates to tenth with 19 points, whereas Khorfakkan remained bottom with six points.

 

 


Al Jazira secured a 3-1 home win over Al Orooba in the third and last of Saturday's games to move up to fifth place with 32 points, while the away side team remain 13th with 12 points.

 

 


On Sunday, leaders Shabab Al Ahli extended their unbeaten run after defeating Al Wasl 2-0 at Zabeel Stadium.

 

 

The away side team needed just eight minutes to open the scoring thanks to Cheickna Doumbia before he bagged his brace in the 30th minute to seal the victory for Shabab Al Ahli.

 

 


The result means Shabab Al Ahli maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the table with 47 points, while Al Nasr sit 11th with 18 points.

 

 


Matchweek 19 concluded with Al Ain securing second place after defeating Al Wahda 3-0 at Khalifa bin Zayed stadium.

 

 

It took the hosts just eight minutes to open the scoring thanks to Vitor Hugo's goal.

 

 


Mohammed Awad cemented his side's lead in the 20th minute, then 16 minutes from the time, Awad made it a brace to secure the three points for the hosts.

 

 

Al Ain are now second with 39 points, while Al Wahda remain seventh with 28 points.
